In one of the more memorable and exciting game trailers I’ve seen in a while, Ubisoft has confirmed that Far Cry 3 will be released on 7 September, 2012, for PC, PS3 and Xbox 360.
We recently reported on a host of gameplay details that were revealed in Edge Magazine. According to a published interview, Far Cry 3 will feature open-ended combat, and players will be able to not only plan their attacks in advance, but also approach each situation various angles. Do you go in guns blazing, or try and be stealthy? Ubisoft also confirmed that their will be additional “creative” approaches to the various encounters.
Edge also confirmed that players will have to deal with native wild and domestic animals which occupy the island. Game designer Andrea Zanni said “we have land animals and sea animals. They’ll be there as threats, they’ll be there for you to utilize – you can go out into the jungle and go hunting, which is all part of Jason growing and surviving on the island.
“If you go deep into the jungle, you’re going to have some encounters that may not be so pleasant. So they’re a part of the ecology of the island, and really making the island this savage place for the player.”
Far Cry 3 is shaping up to be one of the more intruiging titales of 2012, but you don’t have to take my word for it, check out the trailer below.
